Carl Liebetrau
Carl specialises in property-related disputes, with a particular focus on residential and commercial evictions. Having attended to scores of eviction matters, he brings measured judgment, commercial insight and practical clarity to disputes that are often urgent, sensitive and complex. Additionally, Carl advises clients across a broad range of property and litigation matters, including landlord-tenant disputes, Rental Housing Tribunal proceedings, debt collection, spoliation, interdicts, attachment of immovable property, insolvency, agreement drafting, divorce and related property issues.
Admitted as an attorney of the High Court in March 2022, Carl has appeared in many Courts across South Africa. His approach is calm, considered and commercially minded, with a focus on cutting through complexity and guiding clients toward practical, timely outcomes. He places particular importance on clear communication, trusted relationships and ensuring that clients feel informed, supported and confident throughout the legal process.
Carl holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics, both from the University of Cape Town. This combined legal and commercial foundation, together with further experience in property management, enables him to approach each dispute with technical depth, strategic perspective and a practical understanding of the real-world pressures his clients face.
